This is the first entry in a blog I’ll use to document an ambitious side project: creating an open-source AI student—a system designed to learn, ask questions, and eventually assist in a real high school science classroom.

I’m a physics and biology teacher, not a Silicon Valley engineer. That means this journey will be messy, iterative, and grounded in what actually happens when you put new technology in front of teenagers. I plan to share:

• Technical progress on the AI student architecture
• Robotics experiments (including humanoid platforms)
• Honest reflections on classroom AI integration
• The ethical questions we should discuss before deploying these tools at scale

If you’re a student, parent, or fellow educator curious about where AI and education intersect, I hope you’ll follow along. The goal isn’t to replace teachers—it’s to understand how we can use these tools to encourage deeper thinking, not shallower shortcuts.
